What is Early Childhood Screening?

 

The purpose of Early Childhood Screening is to identify children who may have health or developmental delays at a young age. Screening begins at age three and is most beneficial to conduct as close to age three as possible.

 

Early Childhood Screening is tentatively scheduled for October 14 & October 15, Minnesota State Law requires that every child complete Early Childhood Screening. Screening is provided free of charge. All children who were at least 3-years-old by September 1, 2024 should be screened. If your child is eligible for screening and you do not receive an appointment letter in the mail in September 2024, please contact Amber Beadell at (507)342-5114 ext. 162 or

 

At your child’s screening appointment, the following will be checked:

* Height & Weight

* Hearing & Vision

* Social & Emotional Development

* Immunization / Health History

*Cognitive & Fine/Gross Motor Skills

*Communication & Articulation
